At K.J. Electric we are proud that while we've grown to become a BIG company, when it comes to our employees, we still have maintained our small company "feel."

K.J. Electric views its employees as its most important partners in business. As in all partnerships, both sides receive some tangible benefits. We believe in enhancing these benefits wherever possible. Some of these benefits are outlined below:

  • Profit Sharing Retirement Plan - each year a lion’s share of our annual profits are contributed and shared with the employees.
  • GE Employee Major Appliance Rebate Program - As employees of a "GE Executive Flagship distributor", an extra 10% rebate can be obtained on GE, RCA or Hotpoint major appliance purchases.
  • 401(k) Retirement Program - a long-term savings program which provides employees significant federal & state tax savings, as well as develop retirement assets. 
  • Direct Deposit - Through our partnerships with Empire Federal Credit Union and Partner's Trust Bank, employees may obtain payroll direct deposit and other credit union benefits.
  • Flex Plan - offers employees substantial tax savings for medical & dental premiums, childcare and nonreimbursable expenses.
  • Employee Product Discount - Employees may purchase anything in our stock at cost plus 10%.
  • Medical Insurance - Choice of 2 BCBS PPO plans.
  • Empire Vision Employee Discount - provides employees an assortment of vision services at a savings of 25-40%.
  • Dental - a dental program which covers preventative care and some major dental services.
  • Paycheck Protection Insurance - provides long-term disability insurance at extremely low premiums.
  • Basic Life Insurance - provides minimal premium basic life insurance of $20,000 for employees and $5,000 on dependents.
  • Optional Life Insurance - offers additional life insurance of $50,000 to $200,000 with extremely low premiums.
  • Mortgage/Loan Financing/Home Closings - K.J.'s owner, Ken Jacobs, will direct staff to provide dialogue on obtaining the least expensive loans and to handle closings on employee homes to avoid legal fees.
  • Personal Finance - K.J.'s owner, Ken Jacobs, will direct staff to provide dialogue on debt and legal matters, and when appropriate Ken will make our corporate attorneys available at our discounted corporate rate.
  • Product Training & Education - employees are encouraged to enhance their knowledge & value by participating in the on-going product/application engineering courses that we and our vendor partners provide.
  • SAM’s Club/BJ’s Wholesale Club - discount family memberships available through these wholesale clubs where available.
  • K.J. Electric Company Picnic - Held in July, this annual free event provides food and fun for all employees and their families.
  • K.J. Electric Holiday Party - Held at the end of our fiscal year this is a free celebration, for all employees and a guest, helps kick off the holiday season.
