This chunky spiral bangle is made of red transparent Lucite with a bold, twisted design that plays beautifully with the light. It measures 1.7 inches wide and .6 inches thick, with an inner diameter of 2.65 inches and an outer diameter of 3.8 inches—plenty of presence on the wrist without being over the top.
This exact style is pictured in Plastic Bangles by Lyn Tortoriello and Deborah Lyons (p.121). They describe these as “Enormous spiral molded bangles," produced in multiple colors and finishes, and note that some are marked "Made in Western Germany". The bracelet also shows the blow mold seam, or “scar," from the original manufacturing process, which can be seen in the photos.
