A fascinating Double Terminated Herkimer Diamond Floater from the Mud Flood Mine, Fonda, NY. This Herkimer is particularly special because of the intricate etchings where the crystal rehealed after breaking long ago at some point along its 500 million year journey. The Mud Flood Mine is unique in that the whole mine is on a hill and many of the crystals there were broken by some major ground upheaval and then later rehealed. This is uncommon for Herkimers. Also this crystal has an internal crystal termination as well as some interesting inclusions not usually seen in Herkimers. A very vool and unique piece.
