Antique Ottoman Middle Eastern Islamic Qalamdan solid brass Divit inkwell pen and ink case circa 1850. The Qalamdan is in solid brass, etched on all sides with engraved geometric and floral patterns. It consists of an inkwell and a pen compartment of typical tubular form with an interior cavity to store a reed pen. Attached to the body is an inkwell with engraved geometric designs with a shell style cover. The inkwell and pen holder both have hinged lids, one with a shell motif the other with a flagship. The piece measures 8.5” in length and 1.75” and weighs 11 oz. GOOD CONDITION
