First edition, 3rd printing hardcover copy of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh by Robert C. O’Brien (Atheneum, 1972). First published in 1971. Illustrations by Zena Bernstein. Hard to find early hardcover copy of this classic young adult / children’s dystopian / science fiction book. The first book in the Rats of NIMH trilogy and the basis for the animated films. Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with mild rubbing to faces and slight shelf wear around the edges. Boards are straight and clean but with corners faintly bumped. Binding is firm and spine is straight. Previous owner’s inscription and sticker on front endpaper, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
