1960s Set of 4 Qianlong Nian Zhi Chinese Plum Wa Lee Hand Painted Enamel Bowls

The Wa Lee Factory opened on Peng Chau Island in 1953 and closed in 1968. Peng Chau is a small island, one hour boat journey east of the Hong Kong island, with only a few inhabitants. The factory was one of five or six on Peng Chau and at most employed 80 workers. The decorators was trained by experts having moved from Jingdezhen. That's why the illustration of the Chinese Plum tree is so breath taking and dynamic. These bowls hold 20 fl oz. each and measure 8" in diameter, and stand 2.5" tall.

Very good used vintage condition. No cracks, or illustrations errors.
