vintage HUTSCHENREUTHER GERMANY KUNSTABTEILUNG 1814 porcelain figurine featuring the "Bremen Town Musicians" The design is based on the fairy tale, The Town Musicians of Bremen, by The Brothers Grimm. It tells the story of 4 aging animals, who after a lifetime of hard work are neglected & mistreated by their master, so they decide to run away & become town musicians. This porcelain figurine is produced by the art department (KUNSTABTEILUNG) of Hutschenreuther, made in Germany in the late 1960's designed by Karl Tutter
This treasure is in excellent vintage condition w/no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs, and measures approximately 7 3/4" high, 6 1/4" long, & 2 1/2" wide at the base & weighs about 12 oz. I love this figurine, the stacked animals, a white rooster sitting on a black cat, that is sitting on a spotted dog, that is stretched out on the back of a gray donkey on a pale celadon colored base.
