Super rare, this 1969 Springbok 500+ jigsaw puzzle is in EUC and its pieces are glossy, smooth and snap tightly together.
A real jigsaw lover's collectible puzzle, it is fully interlocking and measures 16" x 22 3/4". Somewhat challenging to assemble due to the varied cut of its pieces. The box shows wear and tear due to its age (55 years old in 2024, wow!)
The puzzle depicts an illustration from the manuscript volume of Haft Awrang by Jami originally written and illustrated between 1556 and 1565. It hangs in the Freer Gallery of Washington, D.C. Depicted are the Persian king and his beloved Shirin dining together in a tent while their retainers are occupied by various activities in the surrounding wilderness. Hallmark # PZL 4017.
