ark moss green cloth hardbound boards with gold gilt debossed text to the spine with also text and a locomotive decoration to the front cover and Smithsonian seal to the back cover. The spine and boards are in exceptionally good condition with only slight edge wear at the top and bottom of the back strip and only a very slight blemish to the front lower board. Corners are all sharp but have the slightest hint of wear. Spine is straight and firm with no cracking to the decorative endpapers with an 1855 locomotive illustration. Text block is solid and all pages are firmly attached. All interior pages are clean with no tears, cracks or previous owner marks.
