Rare and a remarkable relic. A historical piece of Fred Harvey Era Native American railroad tourism solid 925 sterling silver pin or brooch featuring a fabulous small thunderbird on an arrow. Both have outstanding stampwork and both symbols are of high importance to Native Americans. The thunderbird is said to bring thunder and lightning with the beating of its mighty wings. Across many different tribes and geographical regions, the Thunderbird has been depicted as a divine messenger, a protector, and a symbol of strength and power. The meaning of the above single arrow indicated protection and defence. Arrows also signified direction, force, movement, power and direction of travel. Nice old C-clasp and tons of natural patina from age. No stamps as typical of Native American pieces from this time period, but tested and guaranteed sterling silver. Price is FIRM.
