Vintage Seth Thomas Brutalist Design Clock

I’m a fan of Brutalism. Brutalism was born in the 1950s and often can be recognized by a use of a raw material, with rough edges and a raw look, often using geometric shapes that are exaggerated in size or some other means. This clock has this with its use of Bakelite in its more raw form and the bronze spheres where numerals should be. The hands are a rough brass and exaggerated in size and form. The hour hand has the symbol for “female” at its tip and the minutes hand is bent in exaggerated fashion to drop down to the bronze spherical ticks. See the last photo. The circle containing the spherical ticks lays flush against the wall, while the center “dome” comes off the wall by a couple of inches. A very cool clock representative of a cool MCM design movement. Clock diameter is 10 inches. Note: the cord has been spliced together with the plug end of another cord. Please only pull the cord out of the outlet by the plug head.
