Here is a striking brooch! It is a large leaf in sterling silver, decorated with orange amber colored crystals. The back is signed Jolle and marked Sterling. It measures about 3.25" x 2.25". Circa 1940.
Jewelry brand Jolle began in New York in 1942 and ceased to exist in 1954. The founders were Jack H. Appel and Lester L. Hess. The company’s main designers Lester Hess and George E. Fearn had previously worked for the other jewelry companies such as Uri Mandle and Karu. Jolle jewelry was produced for a very short period of time and is quite collectible.
