For sale is an amazing demitasse sized cup and saucer made by Nymphenburg in the early 20th century . It is probably the nicest small set I have owned from this period with a perfect blend of a superb shape with a matte blue ground color and lots of superb tooled gilding. Truly a master piece! I always really like the matte ground colors but they are so rare that one does not see them often. I think they look much better with the nice gilding than a shiny ground color. The inside is partially gilded as is the handle. The cup is 2” tall. Both are marked with the under glaze green shield mark with the word Nymphenburg underneath, the usual impressed marks and some black letters and numbers under the cup as shown. The set is in perfect condition with just the tiniest amount of use marks to the gilding. A super cute set that looks much nicer in person!
