Black History Ephemera 1923 Diploma Morehouse Training Parish L.A. Segregated.
The history of this diploma is traced through an auction. I obtain through a storage unit that was defaulted on. There is no family or any next of kin to take any of the personal effects. As I went through some of the paperwork, I could see a genealogy of history for this family. I think it is important that papers, an antique items such as these are preserved, and memorialized in a way to honor our history. As I did the research on this specific diploma, I found out that it was for a school that was finally approved with minimal funding for an all black Vocational training center in Louisiana. As you look at the history, you can see the signatures of the people that were involved in the beginning of its existence. People like the superintendent, and the principal that gave their time and dedication to constructing such a Center, which was unheard of at the time. You can see that they use words in the diplom
