Vintage original 1949 movie poster insert (14”x36”) for “The Barkleys of Broadway”, a 1949 American Technicolor musical comedy film from the Arthur Freed unit at MGM that reunited the legendary Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers after 10 years apart. The screenplay is by Betty Comden, Adolph Green & Sidney Sheldon. Songs were by Harry Warren & Ira Gershwin with the addition of “They Can’t Take That Away From Me” by George and Ira Gershwin. It is the last film that Astaire & Rogers made together, & their only film together in color. This film was the 10th & last movie musical pairing of legendary Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers, who danced their way thru their hit movies.
The poster has some creases along the folds, a few light creases, some smudges and other minor marks scattered in various areas. It has a small sticker on back at lower left that has little or no effect on the front. It is otherwise in generally nice condition and the richly colorful poster displays well as it is.
