Wow! A gorgeous 17-piece Capodimonte tea set lined in 24-carat gold and pastel hand-painted Italian porcelain. The putti with sweet cherubs, dragon handles, and lion figures are sculpted individually and then applied or attached to the main ceramic form. This process is known as an applied ornament. The ornamental sculpture is handmade in great detail. The overall result is an extremely decorative, dramatic sculptural work of ceramic art.
This set for tea, coffee or espresso includes:
6 demitasse cups and saucers
1 Teapot and lion top with dragon spout
1 Creamer
1 Two Handled Sugar cup and lion top
The original case is lined and covered in vibrant oriental red silk. One of the case closures is not attached but is included. The glue attaching the top lining is coming apart but just needs to be reinforced with adhesive.
