This is an authentic early Boy Scouts of America First Class rank brass pin, dating from the 1910s to 1930s. The design features the fleur-de-lis with eagle and shield, flanked by two stars — a symbol of truth, knowledge, and the freedom that Scouting represents.
The reverse is clearly marked “B S of A – PAT 1911”, referencing the early trademarking of the organization’s emblem shortly after its founding in 1910. This patent mark is a highly recognizable indicator of pre-WWII issue pins.
