This striking yellow canister features an impressive Pagoda-style lid and a tapering cylindrical body. The vibrant glaze is accented by hand-painted Oriental-inspired motifs, including a tree/pine branch and abstract village/cloud patterns, all over a molded relief design.
Vintage Appeal: The pottery features an attractive, uniform surface crazing, a sign of its age and authenticity that is highly sought after by collectors.
The base is clearly stamped DeForest of Calif. along with the mold number 5535 and the date © 1967.
This piece would make a fantastic display item, cookie jar, storage canister, or statement piece for any MCM, Retro, or Chinoiserie-inspired decor.
