This was a 2009 composition by Pierre Bourdon and it was his last before he retreated to his castle and began crafting formulae only for a TV shopping channel in Germany. It's his last hurrah.

With notes of cypress, pine and pink pepper, the scent bears a resemblance to Terre d'Hermes, some say -- except they aren't quite right -- it's more coniferous and more marine than TdH and clearly bears some Bourdon fragrance hallmarks.

If you like his work at all, if you respect his innovations from Green Irish Tweed to Cool Water to Erolfa to Millesime Imperial, you will understand the summery notes he can strike that Terre never had. This is a green-woody-vetiver with pepper -- and yet it has something more. A Bourdon lightness -- something not quite marine but certainly aromatic in that direction.

Ask yourself: What if Bourdon had crafted his own version of the original Polo Green with all the tools at this disposal in 2009 and with an interest in a Terre-like forest?
