Vintage Belt Buckle 1985 Historic Fort Dodge Dragoons Serial #199 USA Made Silver Color.
In the spring of 1850 troops were dispatched to establish a fort on the upper Des Moines River in order to protect settlers from the Sioux Indians.
The sight was the high ground south and east of Lizard and Soldier Creeks. By that fall 12 Substantial log buildings were completed.
Beautiful piece of history. This buckle has normal wear and tear due to its age and use. It was made in the USA back In 1985. .
