Rare 1970 Leon Russel and the Shelter People “Leon Live” compilation in a 3 record, six sides’ comprehensive live recording of a great Los Angeles concert on August 28, 1972 at the Long Beach Arena. Trifold album construction, original arty inner sleeves, vinyl in near mint condition (not played much, still has nice gloss, record cover in very good condition though there is some scraping on the spine (see pictures).
Again First Edition, First Pressing mixed at Ardent Studios, Memphis, Tennessee.
This album was released in winter of 1973 (February) and distributed by Capital Records even though this was made by Leon’s own label, “Shelter Recording Co., Inc.”
Most of these songs were Leon Russell originals, entirely written by him and often sung and played (lifted/copied) by other artists in the future. “Stranger in a Strange Land” is a standout in this album.
