For sale is a stunning Japanese porcelain vase by the celebrated Kutani master Nakata Kazuyu (also read as Nakata Kazuo, born 1949). Nakata is a designated Intangible Cultural Property Holder of Ishikawa Prefecture and is world-renowned for his mastery of the Yuri-Ginsai (underglaze silver leaf) technique.
This piece features his signature "Pale Blue" (Tansei) glaze. The artist meticulously applies cut silver leaf in geometric patterns onto the vessel before firing it with a transparent pale blue glaze. The result is a mesmerizing, gem-like surface where the silver shimmers beneath the "ice crackle" texture.
