An original hand-colored etching depicting what is widely believed to be the Chinese House (often called the Chinese Box Pavilion) at Sanssouci, the celebrated Rococo garden pavilion constructed in the mid-to-late 18th century near Potsdam, Prussia. The ornate colonnades, domed structures, and formal garden layout are hallmarks of European chinoiserie architecture of the Enlightenment period.

This work was created using a traditional etching process, in which the image was incised into a metal plate, hand inked, and pulled by hand. The scene was then individually hand colored, a labor-intensive practice that renders each example unique. Figures in period dress animate the composition, evoking leisure, ceremony, and courtly life within a cultivated garden setting.

The artwork is not a print reproduction. It is an original etching impression with hand-applied color. The piece is professionally framed and measures 24 x 18.
