A beautifully crafted antique folding lorgnette, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. These elegant spectacles feature a fold-out double lens with a delicately engraved handle in a floral and geometric design. The lenses fold neatly into place, and the handle provides both utility and decorative appeal. Often carried as a fashionable accessory at the opera, theatre, or social gatherings, lorgnettes were a mark of refinement and taste. This piece is made of a base metal alloy (not silver) with an attractive aged patina. Late Victorian to Edwardian era (circa 1880–1920) Good antique condition with wear consistent with age.
