Two hand-carved wooden sculptures from Cuba, representing folk art and the countries love of music including Cuban salsa, bachata, samba and merengue. One figure is female musician, holding maracas or a similar percussive instrument. The other figure is a male, wearing a hat and a suit-like outfit, possibly depicting a dancer or singer. Both figures are made of wood, and their unpainted or lightly stained appearance suggests a natural or rustic aesthetic, common in folk art. Both figures stand approximately 13.5" tall. * slight scarring behind left shoulder of male figure, due to hand carved nature * ** male figure believed to be missing a pipe, but largely unoticeable and does not detract from the figures natural charm ** *** Items may be disassembled (as intended) to protect items when in transit - but reassembly is easy and probably takes a minute or two ***
