MDCCXLV (1845) Bound in full dark leather fine binding - embossed gilt decoration to boards and spine - five raised bands to the spine - gilt lettering to second spine compartment - gilt edged page fore edges - many full page black and white steel engraved plates - partially used family register single page - large folio size dimensions of 14" x 10" x 4" thickness - it weighs a whopping 8kg unpacked. wear, rubbing,  scuff marks and scratches to binding and extremities including corners - small areas of slight fading to gilt decoration - scattered mild to moderate marking and foxing to text and plates, but generally clean and bright throughout. The book is structurally solid with no weakness or issues with joints or text block, and the gilt decoration is still largely very bright and vibrant in colour, particularly the page fore edges.
