Striking vintage Steiff parrot macaw made of classic mohair with vivid red body, multicolor wings, carved beak, and expressive green glass eyes. This is a wonderful early Steiff animal with strong character and beautiful proportions.
This piece does not have the button or tag, which is common for Steiff animals that were loved and kept from childhood. It comes from my own childhood collection and has been carefully stored for many years.
Based on construction, materials, glass eyes, and style, this macaw dates to approximately the 1950s to early 1960s.
The mohair colors remain bright and appealing. The beak and eyes are intact. There is age appropriate wear consistent with vintage Steiff animals that were gently handled and displayed. Please review all photos closely for condition details.
