This is an ASR "Heritage" semi-automatic table light, produced by the American Safety Rasor Company around 1949-1953
Manufactured in Brooklyn, New York, these lights were made for only about a decade.
It features a brass body on three rhodium-plated feet and a black Bakelite handle
The design allows the user to "serve a light" with the handle, and the mechanism stays lit without being held down.
The handle screws off I assume so that light fluid can be inserted.
This has not been tested.
