This is a nice, old 8 ounce Codd bottle first patented in England by Hiram Codd in 1870. As near as I can tell, this bottle was used in the early days of carbonated beverages. The bottle is very thick to accommodate the pressure, as the marble would rise to the top to seal the contents
Truly a great addition to any bottle collection.
