This is a rather dark print but would be great in a room with walls painted in a dark dolor... sort of a an English country Ralph Lauren look....
Antique color stipple engraving from the series Cries of London (plate umber 4). In antique fame. matted. I removed print to examine and show the engraving plate marks and reverse side which has an old wood imprint. The wood backing had long since been removed. The original series depicted thirteen different late 18th century London street vendors, originally painted by Frances Wheatley and engraved by several known engravers...this plate was engraved by A.
