This listing is for a matching set of three (3) vintage hand-painted/printed sketches mounted on authentic historic roofing slate from the New Orleans French Quarter. Each piece features a scalloped-edge illustration of an iconic NOLA landmark:
Brulatour Courtyard: Depicts the famous 520 Royal Street courtyard built in 1816.
St. Ann Street at the Presbytère: Showcases the heart of the French Quarter near Jackson Square.
St. Louis at Royal: A focal point of the Vieux Carré known for its historic architecture and shops.
Each slate is individually hand-shaped and includes the original leather hanging strap.
Artist Information
The artwork was produced by Artistic Sketches, a studio formerly based in Jefferson, Louisiana. The illustrations are signed by the artist Coleman. These pieces were popular mid-to-late 20th-century souvenirs that allowed visitors to take a literal "piece of the city" home with them.
