This is a hand blown epergne vase circa the 80’s. It’s style is heavily influenced by the Art Nouveau movement.
An epergne (pronounced EH’-PERN) is a table centerpiece that was introduced in Europe in the early 1700’s. They were generally made of silver and characterized by a dominant column or large raised bowl in the center. Many artistic changes later brought designers to glass epergnes having tall central flutes or columns with small glass baskets attached. And still later epergnes were influenced Art Nouveau. This influence meant that the glass flutes of epergnes now took on the shape of a lily, the lily being a very common subject in Art Nouveau decorative pieces. This piece is a spectacular example of that.

The glass trumpet is pale blue speckled with pinhead size silver dots.
