Blue flower petals and leaves are marquis cut with round clear centers. Sterling Silver plating is shiny & brushed.
The history of Bugbee & Niles began in 1859 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, founded by Samuel H. Bugbee & Gardner H. Niles. The antique jewelry of this company, created with short interruptions during 160 years, is now a collector’s item. These breaks were due, among other things, to economic and political problems in the world. For example the Great Depression and the Second World War (the company ceased operations in 1943, but was revived under several different company names after that.)
Traditionally, the company’s designers used gilding and silver plating, as well as crystals and rhinestones, and sometimes enamel. The markings include the initials B.N., or less commonly B&N.
