Vintage Stoneware Jug Decorative One Gallon Whiskey Jug

This primitive salt glazed stoneware whiskey jug is dark brown and pale yellow (or tan). It has a decorative top part with a harvest wheat design and a glossy glaze, which matches the Monmouth, Ill. cookie jar. This jug is unmarked. It measures 10" tall without the cork, 10 1/2" with the cork, and 6 7/8" across. Condition: very good with one very shallow chip on the base edge (at 6 o'clock in pic #6). Cosmetically, the jug has 2 drips of dark glaze on the body (tan part) and two small side-by-side glaze misses on the body near the bottom edge, all of which were done at the factory. These can all be seen in pic #5. There is fine crazing; no cracks.
