Gintama (Volumes 1-38)
"Gintama" is a human comedy manga series by Hideaki Sorachi, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2004 to 2018.
These are ones I bought a while ago. They have some sun damage, but there's no problem with reading them.
Basically, the story often revolves around slapstick gag comedy that concludes in about 1 to 3 episodes, featuring the protagonist Gintoki and the people around him. However, intertwined with this are stories centered on Gintoki's past and related circumstances.
The story is set in Kabuki-cho, Edo, where the opening of the country was forced by the alien race Amanto, and galactic civilization was introduced.
It has a unique world view colored by distinctive characters.
