Real taxidermy butterflies framed in a gray wooden shadow box. This display features a Papilio transiens and a prepona omphale and they are sealed within the shadow box with a print background. The shadow box is approximately 10in by 10in.
The butterflies were ethically sourced, rehydrated, spread and mounted by myself. The specimens can be quite a few years old so there are minor imperfections. With ethically sourced specimens this means not all are “perfect”. They often have a few missing wing scales, clips in the wings, crooked/and or missing antennas etc. However, they still look great and make a statement! Each display is handmade so there are variations from piece to piece.
