One of the most interesting pieces we inherited…
SO… here’s the STORY I was told when I was a child… I was told that this was taken out of a Japanese restaurant that was destroyed in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. It was explained that this piece was one of many of these hand carved pieces that were lined up to create dividers between the tables…
I can’t verify this story… I was a wide eyed little one who believed everything I was told … if you know anything different and recognize this piece please let me know and I can update listing… in no way am I trying to make up a story… if it’s true it’s an AMAZING CONVERSATION PIECE :-)
