This is the complete set of 8 1953 MGM Movie Lobby Cards measuring 11" x 14" for “Torch Song”, a musical romantic drama about a Broadway star and her blind rehearsal pianist starring Joan Crawford, Michael Wilding (Elizabeth Taylor’s 2nd husband), Gig Young & Marjorie Rambeau (nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for this role). The film marked Crawford's return to MGM after leaving the studio to join Warner Bros. in 1944 & is regarded as a camp classic.
The condition of these eight stylish midcentury lobby cards is fine to very fine with excellent color & glamorous period-appropriate images, especially of Joan Crawford as a Broadway diva. Overall, cards have minor wear & tear including pinholes in the corners of card #5, faint marks & smudges & an Australian ratings stamp on the lower right hand side of the title card. The film cards have no tape whatsoever on the front or back which is unusual for movie paper from this era. There has never been any restoration work done.
