Picturesque scene just on the outskirts of the village of the Maasai. The merchants are making their rounds for the long night ahead. Their job is to bring goods to the local villages. Traveling at night brings a lot of benefits. They are able to keep hidden from scouts who may be wanting to steal from them & they are able to travel without the hot sun beating down on them.
These photos are hand painted at local shops in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. Artists use materials that they are able to paint on including curtains and sheets. Thomas uses a mix of acrylic and oil paints so that when they are shipped from Tanzania, they won't crack.
