This is an incredible Royal Doulton "The Drummer Boy" vintage statue. It was first introduced in 1976 and retired in 1981. Item number HN 2679. It's from the Professions collection. It was designed by Mary Nicoll. This piece is about a soldier who has a drum and looks tired and bruised. He has one boot off his foot. He has brown curly hair and is wearing a traditional 1700's soldier's uniform in red, white and black coat, black pants and boots. He has on a black & white top hat with a large traditional military crest in front. He is resting sitting on a tree stump with his leg on top of the drum, cleaning debris out of one of his boots. The drum is next to him. There is a blue canteen water bottle on his side. He has a backpack and blanket on his back. The figurine is high glazed and it's 8 1/4" tall. The Royal Doulton is displayed at the bottom. This figurine is in mint condition. No chips or cracks. No original box or paperwork. Last known original retail price is $500.00.
