This is a rare 1830 Greece Kapodistrias Phoenix 10 lepta coin, also known as the "ring of pearls" variety. The coin was minted from copper and is a sought-after piece for collectors due to its unique design. The phoenix on the coin represents the rebirth of Greece after its independence from the Ottoman Empire. The inscription on the obverse (front) of the coin says "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΠΟΛΙΤΕΙΑ αωκα΄" which translates to "Hellenic State, 1821," the year the Greek Revolution began. The reverse side of the coin shows the denomination "10 ΛΕΠΤΑ" (10 lepta) and the inscription "ΚΥΒΕΡΝΗΤΗΣ Ι. Α. ΚΑΠΟΔΙΣΤΡΙΑΣ • 1830" (Governor I. A. Kapodistrias, 1830). The coin was part of the Phoenix currency, which was the first currency of the modern Greek state and was in use from 1828 to 1832 before being replaced
