Custom, handwoven straw hat from the iconic Charleston, SC-based artist Leigh Magar. This gorgeous hat has a unique fitted shape along the wide brim that varies in both width and height. It has a raw-edged grosgrain ribbon trimmed crown along with its finished brim; the same ribbon is found as a band on the interior of the crown. The interior has a tag that reads MAGAR Millinery. Unsure as to what type of straw the hat is composed of— (possibly rattan?)— but it is a relatively pliable material with a consistent weave composed of light & dark brown.
There is a little discoloration? on the interior band and the hat is a little dusty, but that’s obviously fixable. Otherwise it’s in great shape with little visible wear. I have not tried to spot clean. Please see all photos for detailed condition.
