Scarce and fabulous antique silverplate pitcher in the Eastlake/Aesthetic taste, circa 1880, The straight-sided tapering form with integral spout, the removable weighted lid balanced on two short pins allowing it to automatically pivot open and closed while pouring, the handle with bone spacers, the exterior with wide engraved bands of geometric, swag, and foliate motifs, the front with elaborate monogram PEH or EPH, 7-1/2" tall by 4-3/4" in diameter at the base, the interior of the lid embossed "Toft's Patent M."
