Overview: Up for sale is an absolute masterpiece oil painting - "The Myth of Hula" - depicting nude female figure with a hibiscus flower in place of her head, with two native Hawaiian birds perched on her arms. Below, the Hawaiian islands are rising from the sea, presumably as the figure dances the traditional Hula dance. The detail and power of the piece are difficult to convey in words. It was painted by Dane Hidalgo (signed in abbreviation at lower left) and in full on verso. Titled and dated 2003 on verso. There is also a stamp indicating it was part of a collector's art collection. I haven't found any information on Hidalgo, but he was clearly a master painter. Framed in a simple wood frame.
Condition: Painting and frame are in excellent condition.
Measurements: Painting measures 36 inches high x 24 inches wide. Frame measures 37 inches high x 25 inches wide.
