This work is hailed as a masterpiece in the long history of "Hissatsu" and continues to captivate many fans. In contrast to Makoto Fujita, who is the face of Hissatsu, Tsutomu Yamazaki completely retired from the series after this. Yamazaki's policy of "never playing the same role twice" made his portrayal of "Tetsu the Buddhist Priest" a rare exception, and his dedication was fully demonstrated in this work.

The final episode, a miraculous catastrophe of only 50 minutes, while producing many legendary episodes. It gives me chills every time I watch it.
The actors, script, direction, camera work, lighting, music... in every sense, it was the pinnacle of Showa-era TV period dramas and undoubtedly the peak of Hissatsu.
