Size: 8” tall, diameter of top 2”, diameter of the base 3”
These beautifully decorated Vases employs the technique of "engraved gold" (qiangjin ), in which an adhesive of lacquer is applied to fine lines incised on the lacquer surface, and gold foil or powdered gold is pressed into the grooves; and "filled-in" (diaotian or tianqi ), where lacquer is inlaid with lacquer of another color (in this green and red-brown).
