"Desperado" is the 2nd studio album by the American Rock band "Eagles", released in 1973. It was produced by Glyn Johns & was recorded at Island Studios in London, England. The songs are based on the themes of the Old West. The band members are featured on the album's cover dressed like an outlaw gang, remains the only Eagles album where the band appears on the front cover. Although the title track is 1 of the Eagles' signature songs, it was never released as a single. The song "Desperado" was ranked N° 494 on Rolling Stone's 2004 list of "The 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time". The album did yield 2 singles, "Tequila Sunrise" & "Outlaw Man", which reached N° 64 & N° 59 respectively. The album reached N° 41 on the Billboard album chart and was certified Gold by the RIAA in 1974 & double platinum in 2001. In 2000, Desperado was inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame. The original concept was for songs about anti-heroes; according to Glenn Frey, he was jamming together with Don Henley, Jackson Browne & JD Souther after a Tim Hardin concert when they had the idea of doing an album about anti-heroes. It's considered to be 1 of the significant albums of Country Rock. It was voted N° 631 in the 3th edition of Colin Larkin's All Time Top 1000 Albums in 2000.
